DeBerti Designs Builds 2020 Super Duty That ‘Transforms’ For SEMA
DeBerti’s innovative SEMA Super Duty has pullout fenders and rear bumper, using its Transformer powers for good.
Many of us grew up playing with Transformers toys, not to mention watching the cartoon on Saturday mornings. And even if you weren’t around back then, you’ve undoubtedly seen the many movie reboots. But the father/son duo at DeBerti Designs, who also have their own TV show dubbed Twin Turbos, have been building Ford trucks into Transformers for a while now. But instead of turning into a giant laser-wielding robot, this latest Super Duty build that debuted at SEMA 2019 uses its powers for good.
Yes, those big dually fenders and rear bumper actually slide out, revealing a good bit of additional storage space. In the case of this Super Duty, that space is used for tools and straps. Which is quite appropriate for a heavy duty hauler. DeBerti designed and fabricated the pullout fender/cabinet, bumper drawer, and fully adjustable light bar in house. Needless to say, it’s some pretty amazing stuff to see in action.
Of course, there’s much more going on with this brand new 2020 Super Duty than just some nifty storage solutions. The truck also sits on attractive 22″ American Force wheels wrapped in 37×12.5″ Toyo tires. It rides on a fully adjustable Kelderman air suspension, which would also be quite useful for work sites. Not to mention long, comfy trips down the highway. And Hellwig provided upgraded front and rear sway bars to help keep it all tied down to the road as well.
In the bed, you’ll find a Ford gooseneck hitch kit for towing. The Blue Oval also provided the truck’s heavy duty recovery kit in case you get stranded somewhere. You won’t have to worry about being left in the dark either, thanks to that Rigid LED lighting on the roof. And this Platinum-trim F-450 assuredly sounds great, because it’s been fitted with a custom Borla exhaust that’ll belt out tunes from the revised 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel.
Most trucks we come across at SEMA are built specifically for show. But in the case of the DeBerti Super Duty, it’s all about showing off a slew of functional upgrades for the working class. The fact that it does so in a seriously stylish manner, well, that’s just an added bonus. But you can bet that this isn’t the last cool truck we’ve seen at SEMA 2019. So stay tuned, because F-150 Online is coming to you live from Las Vegas all week!
