COOL GEAR: Raptor Gets Complete Brake Upgrade

By -

Another aftermarket mod that your truck needs to be even more badass!

If there’s one thing Ford Raptor owners like to do with their trucks, it’s driving them off-road, obviously. Next to that, drivers sure do love to modify their Raptor! Well, good news for those owners looking for another upgrade for their beastly truck: the U.K.’s Alcon Components has just announced a new brake upgrade, and they’re making some pretty lofty claims about what you can expect.

According to their video announcement, Alcon says their new brake upgrade will improve multiple aspects of the Raptor’s braking. The complete brake upgrade covers both axles, including calipers, rotors, and pads. There will be a 10% reduction in disc temperature when in use, a 33% reduction in pad work rate, and up to a 15% decrease in pedal effort. All these benefits come in the “easy to install” upgrade kit. The total cost for the brake upgrade from one of their distributors is $3,300. Not bad for the improvements your Raptor will see.

Alcon Brake Mods for Ford Raptor

Alcon is renowned as braking and clutch specialists. The company started with Audi Sport’s Group B Quattro rally cars but now have moved on to a variety of sports cars and utility vehicles. This new brake upgrade is another example of the Raptor blurring the lines between truck and performance vehicle. The Raptor sits alongside the Mustang and other sports cars as enthusiast vehicles that have a ton of aftermarket parts and upgrades available. Only with the Raptor, you can take your modified vehicle on a trail and over any obstacles.

The Raptor brake upgrade kit is available for 2010-2014 Raptors, the 2017 Raptor, and 2009-2017 F-150s.
