1979 Ford F-100: A Beautiful Reminder of a Different Era

1979 Ford F100 Blue and Black

The blue and black paint job really sets this truck apart from the crowd.

The 1979 Ford F-100 is the type of truck you just don’t see around anymore. No, we’re not talking about body style, either. Clearly, the boxy design of the ’79 is a far cry from the ultra-refined look of modern Ford trucks. What we mean is the F-100 is a two-door truck with no extended cab and a smaller frame, but plenty of power. With the Ranger long gone, and the F-150s larger size, the ’79 F-100 looks completely odd in 2018.

However, there’s something special about a beautifully restored 1979 Ford F-100. And that’s what we want to share with you today. Over at Leake Auction Company, they have an F-100 listed that would put a lot of modern trucks to shame. Just a quick glance shows you exactly what makes this truck so incredible. The awesome bright blue paint, with contrasting black stripe, looks great. The black wheels and grille really make this F-100 look modern, but with the retro body.

There’s not many details in the listing, but the F-100 has the 302 CI V8 engine, with an automatic transmission that you might expect. While we don’t know how well the engine, as well as the rest of the internals, runs, judging by the care that went into this restore, you can imagine everything is in great shape.

The interior continues the bright blue and black trim look, with the blue dash and black accents. The seat is that bench seat that you know and love, and it looks brand-new. Continuing the blue theme is the fun Ford floor mats with the bright blue oval, pulling it all together. Basically, it looks like the Blue Oval exploded all over this truck.

There’s no pricing available on the website, but you can be sure that the bidding on this truck is going to be on the higher end for F-100s of that year.
