Fully restored using nothing but original parts, this F-100 will have you stepping back in time.

Some things were just better in the past. American pickup trucks, for instance, look better and sound a lot better than their modern counterparts. We recently stumbled upon a listing for this 1956 Ford F-100 on the Classic Cars auction site.

The gorgeous machine underwent a complete restoration that, as the listing states, utilized original components. The engine, a 289 cu. in. crate motor “has been completely gone through, redressed, points swapped out to electronic ignition,” is matched to a three-speed gearbox. While the listing doesn’t provide any real numbers for the truck, a 289 cu. in. engine cranks out 350 horsepower right out of the box. We wouldn’t be surprised if this motor has been massaged for a little more oomph. The truck, as the listing states, “pulls like a wild animal down the road.”

The exterior, which appears to be in great condition, features a dark blue paint job with chrome touches, including the front bumper, grille, trim pieces, and wheels. There’s also chrome on the rear bumper and the exhaust system shines like it’s brand new. The interior is a little more Spartan with a black leather bench seat, a blue dashboard, a large speedometer with white trim, and an aftermarket gauge, which we assume is a tachometer.

While the exterior looks amazing, the interior could use a little bit of work, especially if someone wants to use the vehicle regularly. The listing claims that the previous owner drove the F-100 to local car shows and then put it away in 2006, where it sat in a storage until now, which is a shame.

Anyone that’s willing to live with the interior’s shortcomings will surely end up with a good-looking truck that’s fun to drive. The truck only has 12,000 miles on it and is priced at $19,500. That’s a steal, especially when comparing this beauty to modern trucks. Drooling? Yeah, we are too.
