Best deals on BFG AT KOs?

Well I might bite the bullet and go with the big dog, but don't want to be taken to the cleaners doing it! What kind of deals have y'all found on your AT KOs? I will probably go with the LT285/75R16. One place I called was going to give me $250 credit for my stock tires, but I would still owe them about $600 (tradeing out all 5). This seems a little steep to me, but I may be wrong.

I called Tire Discounters here in Cincinnati by me and they wanted $195 a piece for that tire but in a 265/70 R17. That price included a 4 wheel alignment, lifetime balancing and rotation and installtion.

Someone also said that they bought the same tires at Costco for $160 i think. Pays to shop around i guess and see what'll work out for you best.

Here in Utah CostCo (like Sam's Club) has 265/75/16 for 154.00 each. That includes mounting, balancing, road hazard, etc.

I'm about to get some BFG A/T KOs in a 265/70/R17. Would you trust Costco to put them on? I'm not sure how reputable they are. I'd hate to have them balanced wrong and then have a major problem occur on the road.

I trust them as much as anyone else who does tires. It all depends on the guy doing the work. You could go to a big tire chain store and get the new guy who has never put a tire on a car and your truck is his first.

I would call CostCo and talk to the tire center to get complete details on how they back up their work.

Also after getting tires, or any service for that mater I allways double check what they did. (within reason) Check the air preasure, drive city and highway to check the balance, etc.

Hope this helps,

Sean

I bought my BFG A/T Ko's about 6 months ago. I don't know about where you guys live, but I shopped around extensively and found the best deal at..(gulp!) the parts department of my local Ford dealer!
Cheaper than Costco, any of a dozen major tire chains or anywhere else for that matter. I was shocked..give your dealer a call.
BTW, after putting lots of miles on them in mud, snow, rain, towing, around town or on the highway, they may just be the best tires I have ever owned for performance and longevity. Good luck...

Sounds like a good deal here. I just some BFG's on. Paid $165 a piece, balanced, mounted from NTB. Great tires, had Coopers on but they wore out completely in under 30,000 miles.

I just got my BFG Long Trails at Sams and I was worried about the install and brake warpage. But I was shocked they guy was great he even used a real torque wrench! Not one of those silly torque sticks that don't work!

Cheapest place around, best warranty service (You can take your truck to any Sams accross the country for road hazard, balancing, and rotation)and you can special order just about any size tire and have it in a matter of days!

Good luck!!

Thumbs up

I just bought my BFG AT KOs in 265/70/17 for my SCrew at Costco. $169 ea, installed, and they did a great job putting them on and even used a torque wrench on the lugs.
