Terra Grapplers in snow?

Live in the north country, did a search on this subject didnt find to many comments on how Terra Grapplers work in snow. Any comments? Looking at 285 65 18 for my F150 4x4

Or should I look at another manufacture? Michelin, Bridgestone ?????

GREAT TIRE!!! I have these on my 96 F250 PSD and they are amazing in any weather. Get good miles out of them also. They might be a little salty on the walet for 18" but well worth it IMO.

good article to look at when deciding which tires to go with. they rated each tire on 6 different surfaces so you can make your decision based on what you will be driving on.

I have 275/65/18's on mine and I'm really not that impressed with them in the snow. I had bald GoodYear Wranglers on it before I got the Terra Grapplers and I swear I didn't need to use 4x4 as often with the Wranglers. It's not a huge problem since once I put it in 4x4 it'll go anywhere.

I do like them though and would get them again.

i never liked mine in snow. but i think they were a bit wide for the truck and didn't get teh ground pressure they needed.

these wild peak A/T have impressed me so far this year.

I have the 285/75-17 load range E on my 2002 F-150. Keep in Mind they are an all terrain tire, meaning they are just that- a general dirt/gravel/highway/some snow. Personally I think They work decently in the snow, I have had them on forest service roads in snow up to about 12-14" and thats as far as the truck wanted to go. But take in mind, that was thick wet slushy snow, which can be pretty bad for traction anyway. And then I put on snowshoes and went Hiking. I have also crawled up a frozen snow bank(last years snow) covered with a dusting of about 3" of snow at about a 30*incline which was icy, and I didn't spin. Just depends on the snow I guess. Hmm- I'll try and go test the tires some more this weekend in some fresh North Cascades powder on a fire road at some higher elevation. I might even take pictures/snow measurements for proof.
But I would suggest if you are up north, get a dedicated winter tire that was meant for snow/ice. Studded tires if laws allow it-those studs seem to bite a bit more on the icy stuff(black ice/freezing frost).

I loved my Terra Grapplers, I pulled a H2 out of the snow in NV and he had Generals I think. Great tire, great mileage and great wear!

Mine are good! Not to bad in the snow! I have been riding around in 4x4 high and like stated above I can go anywhere! I do notice that when the roads are wet i will get a little slide action from the rear of my truck! I may go to an all terrain tire seeing as I have only used these tires 5 times offroad!
