Looking for wheels for wider stance

I have an 06 FX4 F150. I am looking for black rims to give the truck a wider stance. I don;t want the wheels sticking out a whole bunch just a bit more for a beefier look. i have been looking at the American Racing Mojave 18" black rims. i currently have the 18 FX4 alloy wheels. I plan to use the tires I have now, they are 275 65 18's and will get bigger tires when these wear out. can i get a wider look using these tires with different rims and the same tires. do these rims look nice, i have not seen them in person. my truck is black and i want rims that have a real 4x4 look, not rims that look like they should be on a honda accord or something.

Here is the truck:

Thanks!

That's exactly what I want to do. I hate the skinny tire look all factory trucks come with. I wanted to put 9 inch wide wheels on mine with about a 4.5 inch back space to set the tires out a little. Has anyone done this? Pics?

Your OEM wheels are 18x7.5 inches with 5.5 inches of backspacing. You can use those specs as a guide. I would not go wider than a 9 inch wide wheel if you plan on using the OEM tires untill they wear out.

Do you think the stock 275/65/18 tire would look really stretched out with a 9 in wheel?

I think it would be pushing it a bit since you would be using a wheel 1.50 widder and the stock rubber as you mentioned is just skinny. Do the whole deal, new wheels and tires. You will get just new wheels and be like "man I should have gotten new tires too". One shot, one kill man.

I think they will look fine on a 9 inch wide wheel. I have 285mm wide tires on a 10 inch wide wheel and mine look fine.

I want both but funds man, funds! Anyway, I would be able to get the wheels and at least widen the stance for now, and later add the new bigger tires. I hate the factory look.
