I'd suggest the BFG AT KO's, Nitto Terra Grapplers or Toyo AT's. THe Bridgestone Duelers and Goodyear Wrangle ATS (the RTS is horrible) are also good choices.

I just put a set of bridgestone indy 500's on my truck (97 ex cab, 4x4, off road package), and love them. They are quiet, good grip, and were pretty cheap at tirerack.com. Ford mounted and balanced them for 54.00 total.

I have BFG Rugged Trail T/A's on my new F-150 and are great! Great traction in mud and dry pavement. I'll get to try them in snow this weekend.

I don't think you can beat a Michelin LTX M/S for long wear, traction in wet weather, feel and quietness. The best tire i have ever run.

I recently bought some Toyo open country at's (265/70r/17)
$691 from Belle tire ride is nice and vary little road noise.
