Question AR Rims & BFG TA's on Leveled '04 F150 FX4

I have a 2'' leveling kit on an '04 F150 FX4 Supercrew. Got 48K miles from the stock rubber, but time for new tires and rims. I'm going to go down to a 17" rim (from the stock 18''), and am considering the AR Mojave 17x8. The AR site says this is a 0 offset wheel with 4.5'' backside. Will these wheels fit? Also, planning on installing BFG All-Terrain T/A KO's, and wondering if the LT285/70R17D is the best size to go with. Looking for maximum sidewall height, and will tolerate (minor) rubbing.

Any and all comments/advice welcome. Thanks everyone!

Wouldn't 4.5 backspacing cause considerable rubbing??

Keep in mind, they are only 8 inches wide. So, they will only stick out 1 1/2 inches farther than the OEM wheels. If they were 9 or 10 inches wide with 4.5 inches of backspacing he may have rubbing.

At the BFG website, they list the 285/70R/17's as a 32.7" diameter, and list the 305/65R/17's as a 32.7" diameter also, so you are correct that the 305 is a 33". However, the BFG site only lists the 305 on wheels 8.5" to 11" wide.

I'd prefer to mount the 305's...could I make them work?

See http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/specs...t-a-ko/44.html for BFG specs, and

http://www.americanracing.com/wheels...lloy&section=S for AR specs.

Thanks, all.

You may have to do a little trimming but I think the 305/65-17's will fit.

Budha05stx Can you fit 17" rims on a 2005? I have seen some guys have had trouble with the brake calipers. I would like to get 17's but I'm afraid to.

A 295/70-17 is more like a 34x12.00 tire, but they should fit fine.
Giveem3 has a point, some aftermarket 17's won't fit some 2005 and newer trucks. Always test fit one to make sure.
