305 vs 285

I have searched around but havent found my answer.

I know 285/70r17 will fit a 2005 4x2 with a leveling kit

but will 305/65r17 fit I know they are basiclly the same height but they are about 3/4" wider. will they fit a 4x2 without any rubbing issue

my truck already has a 2.5 AS and a 1.5 AAL just trying to get all the facts before I take the plunge on new tires.

It will depend on the wheel you use. They should fit fine using the OEM wheels.

I will be using my factory OEM rims, I am just trying to avoid rubbing issues
but would like to get the 305's if I can.

Also does anyone have any pics of BFG all terrains on xlt rims with painted accents.

I agree, I think the 305/65-17's will fit both trucks. It will probably be a little tight on the 4x2 with a leveling kit.

I just can't remember anyone running that size. Several people have run 285's on 4x2's with a leveling kit with no rubbing. The 305's are only 10mm wider, so I'm guessing if you have any rubbing, it will be very minor.

I guess I will just go with the 285/70r17 We know for a fact I can put them on with no problems and it will be a nice big change from the 255/65r17 stockers.
