40psi would be a good starting point.

I try to check mine every oil change while Im waiting for the oil to change...the tire pressure can have a pretty big impact on gas mileage. Once my tire pressure got about 10 PSI below normal on one front tire and my MPG dropped a good bit.

At least try to check it every other oil change (thats when I try to rotate my tires as well).

I just went and checked mine for the first oil change a few days ago and they all ranged between 29-33 PSI, needless to say I went to air up right after that and now all are sitting between 40-45 PSI.

Seems a bit scarce on the tire checks to me, unless you change your oil monthly. I check mine tires at least once a month. If you developed a tire leak soon after changing oil, you wouldn't want to wait until your next oil change (3000 to 5000 miles?) to discover it, would you?

If those tires are p series tires 40-45 is way too high. What is the max pressure on the side of the tire. If 50, it is probably load range C and 40 would be about right.

Well since you started this. have a question on tire pressure. I just bought a new 2006 F150 Super cab. I now have 35" BFG M/T'S. on the stock 18" chrome rims. what tire pressure do you think I should run. I have it set at 38 right now, But I think that is a little high. What do you all think??

here is my gallery

38 would be just about right. Those are max 50 psi load range D tires. Recommended tire pressure for my LR C with a max of 50 psi is 40.
