off road on lava fields
yes, i live in hawaii. some of the best fishing spots require off roading on lava fields. if anyone has some insight to what type of tires i should get please let me know...i am not planning on lifting my truck, other than a leveling kit, and will be using the stock rims. mud tires won't work to well, as i need more rubber contacting the surface...lava rocks get slippery when wet mahalo in advance

Go to the BFG site and check out these tires

I wouldn't discount mud tires unless you have tried them. They actually fair quite well on rocks becasue of the lugs biting into the edges of the rocks. Check out this rig; http://www.off-road.com/jeep/feature/2003_11/ he is using Swampers.

took a look again at the specs of the bf tires. any suggestions on the rim size? i am planning on using the stock rims...fx4 is either 18 or 20". oh, and a 2.5 leveling kit will go on...
because of the off roading i need the clearance and do not want to rub...too much that is...seems to me the 18's is the choice to go...
