Calling all tire experts!!!!!!

Took my 325/60/18 MT Atz's to get mounted but the tire place could not get the tires to seat on the outside. They went up to 85 psi but they still wont seat. Does anyone have any suggestions?

are you trying to put those on stock rims. if so its no wander those tires are not ment do fit rims so narrow. you will probably need to get some aftermarket rims 9 inches or wider.

Tell the guys mounting them to lube the rim real good, and air the hell out of it. It'll pop on, and it will be loud, like gunshot loud. 60's aren't that wide a tire. I think the stock mustnag pony rim is 16x8 and it rides on 225/60-16

They are going on eagle alloy 178 18x9. A friend of mine suggested putting the rims on the truck and driving it around the block. they have 85psi now, how far can I go?

60 has nothing to do with the width of the tires. its. the 325 mm width makes it a 13 inch wide tire but it should mount on a 9 inch wide rim. I am thinking they didn't use enough lube on the tire when they mounted it.

I think you have a problem with the installer, not the tires and wheels. I've seen dozens of 325/60-18's and 325/65-18's on 9 inch wide wheels. Also, the 60 in the size refers to the height, not the width. The first number is the width of the tires thread in millimeters. A 325/60-18 is 100mm's wider than a 225/60-16.

How much air is too much? They have 85 now. Max psi cold is 65. They are 10 ply load range E. Should I put them on my truck to try to seat the bead.

I have never heard of any one seating tires that way but it might work. I would spray soapy water arround the rim edges to help out. I wouldn't go over 20 mph with your tires not seated as you could possibly lose pressure quickly if it dosn't seat properly.

Tires are mounted and balanced. I took them to another tire place. They relubed the rim and filled them up with about 110psi and wala they seated.

Red face

Just a word of warning. I blew a tire up with 100 pounds once. My boss told me to do it and leave it to see if the tire would seat, lol. Of course we came back from lunch and the tire had split in two straight across the tread from bead to bead. It must have sounded like a cannon going off in that locked up metal building, haha!!,,,,98

I dont think it would be a good idea to put those tires on those stock rims anyways......the tread is supposed to be flat all the way across for traction.....if you put them on too narrow a rim it will round the tread patch.....cause uneven tread wear and reduce traction
