lowered L parking brake cable question

I just purchased an '02 L that has been lowered with Belltech parts. It doesn't look like it is a drastic drop maybe a 2/4, I'm not sure. The coating around the rear parking brake cable has pulled out of the metal sheath at the drivers side brake assy and won't allow the parking brake to work. It looks like it might be a little too short to reach the holder behind the brake assy. Should there be some kind of adapter for the cable that should have been installed with the lowering kit? Or is it possible that a new cable might fix it?
Thanks for any help on this,
Scott

Start with a new cable as the old one is buggered. They are relatively inexpensive. Check around also. Sometimes the dealer is cheapest on those. If you need to, you can use your old cable to make a intermediate cable to lenthen the cable.
