1995 4x4 Brakes.. Can't get them dissembled.
Ok gents, I have an 1995 F-150 4x4 w/ auto locking hubs and the brakes and rotors need to be changed something fierce.. They're warped, but reading these threads, I can see a lot of folks hav ethe same problem... but anyway, here is what I've got. Once I take the wheel and the little chrome cover, I see a 6 spoked sort of cover. I'm told it has to be removed to pull the rest of the assembly apart. Autozone can't figure out what sort of tool is required to remove it, and none of the books (Haynes and Chiltons) make no mention of it. I haven't seen it in any of the discussion threads. Can someone help?
Here are some pics of what I'm talking about.

There is a thin snap ring that is on the outside of the autolocking hub that has to be removed. Use a small screw driver to dig it out of the outer hub, then you can remove the locking hub. Then you will need a spanner socket to remove the hub/rotor assembly. The rotor can then be removed from the hub by driving the wheel bolts out. Good Luck!

Oh yea, on the hub nut, (spindle nut, lock nut, spanner nut) whatever you want to call it. If your parts supplier can't find an actual listing for your application, just ask him/her for the 4-prong socket for a 1/2 ton Dana 44.
Get either the OTC 7157 if you have the typical lock nuts, or the K-D 2467 if you have the ratcheting type.
NOTE:The K-D will work on both types, but I personally like the OTC better on the older style hub nuts.

Manaul locking hubs
I am in a similar situation except I have a 1995 F150 with manual hubs. I can get the locking pinion assembly out by pulling the two snap rings but am not sure where to go from there. Everything I can find seems to indicate the rotor and hub will pull off over the bearings and away from the spindle.
I am close to blasting away with the BFH recommended in Ponyriders thread but thought it wise to get some input.
Awesome site! Thanks.
