Fan Clutch LOUD!
I got a 00 4.6, previoulsy used. when i first had it, the fan clutch ran ALL the time. my dad got another fan clutch and put it on. still runs more than it should at idle and low rpms but fades out as the rpms climb. i want this noise to be compltetly gone. wat brand clutch should i get?

but heres an example. i went over to stevens place. i started my truck and let him hear the fan. then i cut it off. he started his and his fan wasnt even half as loud as mine. also, when my dad installed the fan clutch and turned it by hand, it didnt wanna turn much. the oem clutch should let the fan spin freely when the engines cold. and when the clutch installed the engine was cold.

I installed a new OEM recently. They're all loud and drag down the power IMO. One of the best mods for these engines is an Efan set up. You'll free up about 15 HP and you'll notice it lol. Plus it's lots quieter. We installed a Troyer kit on a 99 and it was a noticeable difference.
The OEM fan clutch rarely goes out on these things, but if they do, you'll see lube leakage (trails/evidence) from the bearing housing.

Well the kit was expensive, over 400 I believe and it will take you a good part of the day. Not hard, that kit had good instructions and came with everything from what I recall.
I have a couple fans out of a Taurus I'm going to use, -once I decide to do it lol.
Also, it's cheaper installing a Mark VIII kit since you can purchase parts on line.
