Help Diagnose Noise

Hi everyone...after about a minute of warmup I start to get this sqeaking/chirping noise on the passenger side of engine. Changed the belt & pulleys inspected. Still making noise. Check out the noise for yourself on my youtube link. If I let truck warm up enough even when I shut off engine it makes a whinning sound that will fade away.
Any help would be great

Almost sounds like the fan hitting the shroud. Or a pulley going bad.
Did you try starting it with the belt off to see if it still makes the noise?

Could this noise be from an altenator, water pump on its way out??
Or could this be an internal engine noise.
someone said a loose sparkplug could make that noise, but wouldnt the check engine light come on?? (double check plugs tomorrow)

Im a little nervous because a mechanic told me it could be on the inside of engine, I would never think that noise could be on the inside of engine....he told me to fill truck up with premium gas. If this sounds totally ridiculous to you guys I will have to start bringing my truck elsewhere, because it sounds a little strange to me.

So did it still make the noise with the belt off? If it did it isn't an accessory. Start looking inside the engine.

Yes it still made the noise with the belt off....that rules out the accessories...how do I go about looking on the inside of engine?? Where is the harmonic balancer located??

Thanks for the replies....

the balancer is behind the big pulley at the end of the crankshaft. they have rubber in them that wears out.. A stethoscope would help you find the internal noise and pinpoint it.

The pulley and the harmonic balancer are one and the same. You need a special puller to remove the pulley/balancer. With the engine running take a look to see if the pulley wobbles.

Yes, listen to Jean! My truck was squealing terrible, the rubber went bad between the hub and pulley and the pulley shot right off one cold snowy morning! NOT FUN!!!

it sounds like you need a new flux capacitor. You should talk to marty or Doc about that.

As was mentioned look at the harmonic balancer, if it is wobbling it could be causing this issue. But, I would also look at the plugs and check them as well. Have you taken a screwdriver or other listening device and put it to your ear to listen to a more exact location of the noise?

I checked to see any wobbling.....everything seems good. I checked the plugs all are tight.

This is as far as my mechanical abilities will take me.

Its back to the garage & let them deal with it.

I appreciate everyones help.

I will let you know the outcome.

Thanx
