What have you done to your 4.6....

I have a 4.6 with almost 200,000 on her and i am thinking about rebuilding her and trying to crank some power out of her. I already have done several upgrades to the truck to include...

intake
throttle body spacer
exhast
centerforce clutch
new tranny!!!
And am currently rebuilding the rear end to get limited slip..

I want to hear what everyone else did to get there 4.6 cranking out the pony's. My other choice is to drop a 5.4 in there which i have thought about deeply.

So throw at me what everyone has done. I know that a lot of people are guna say to get a tune..... but im waiting for all my future mod's to get in so that im not waste'n a tune.

I have the same engine, not as many miles but almost the same mods as you. As far as I can see...everybody goes for the edge evo for more power....they have pursuaded me into getting one when I get back from Iraq..

E-fans were one of the better mods I did...U/D pullies too. Then do yourself a favor and get a Troyer tune...

HOw much did the pulleys and fans cost you? Was it a big differance or just the same as everything else that i have done to it where i noticed a little more power and that was it. How much did it cost you?

Also, maybe im stupid but what does a under pulley kit do? Are they just lighter so theres less rotating weight?

to many to name.. but get some high comp pistons. forged I beam rods forged crank. windage tray. should cost around 800 for all of that. make sure its balanced. get some long tubes off a 5.4 they will work. port out your intake manifold. port match the heads. get some oversized valves and u should have a good nice n/a motor.

My '05 has roughly 48,000 miles and all I've done performance wise is exhaust & intake. Before the year is up though, I am doing heads/custom ground cams/ .67 turbo/ I hope to be pushing 450 rwhp before 2008.
