Tune up time

Tune up time
I've got a 2001 s/crew with the 5.4 the truck has 130,000 miles I figured it might be time for a tune up. So I called the local Ford garage and they told me if it ain't broke don't fix it. Even though there is no problems I figured with this many miles why not do a tune up. So was the dealer right or should I do a tune up if so what all needs to be done.

I agree, except for the Autolites - even though they make Motorcraft, they didn't work in my 98 5.4L .. The Favorites for these motors are Motorcrafts (failsafe), NGK, Denso Iridiums..
Denso's may be the best plugs - It takes 5,000 volts less to fire a DENSO Iridium Power spark plug versus a conventional platinum spark plug.
Torque for the plugs - 2001 is 12-16 lbs..
Don't over-tighten the COPs - they are suppose to be loose on the bushing.
Global Automotive is the Ebay store for COPs , Look up "COP's Deal" in the search bar in the engines forum, I posted Kevins link (store owner).
Use plenty of dielectric grease....
Use anti-sieze on the plugs.
Use Matts instructions in Technical Articles to assist if you need it..

Bosch are the worst possible plugs for these motors.. Motorcraft plugs are OEM .
Ford engineers and product designers use Motorcraft plugs as an application for a reason. They function properly in there modular motors. Putting a plug that has a terrible history in these motors is not recommended.

I know what yall just said about the bosch but I bought the +4 iridiums(fusions? I think). at like $10 a plug I dont hate not to use them but a rebuilding a engine is alot more, sooo I have also heard three diff opinions: first being that I should never use any bosch, I should use copper plugs (this guy was a tard) and lastly dude at auto zone had the 4+ in his 4.6 just like mine and told me they were good so I dont know

Well I did actually try Bosch plugs in 2002 I think it was , my truck ran like sh^t for about 30 seconds then quit all together.
I also tried the Autolites, they ran for about 40 miles before I received random and multiple misfires..
Look at the Autolites after I took them out - they got so hot they turned different colors lol. The look Identical to the Motorcrafts but , there not of the same heat range obviously..
