Unhappy Check Engine light

Hey guys my check engine light came on and i got a reading code 171 (lean system) on bank 1. Does anyone know what i can do to fix this problem or any suggestions what bank 1 is so i can fix it

Start by visual inspection for leaking vacuum. Follow PCV hose from one end to the other.

You could have a vacuum leak around the intake. If you don't find any leaks, next I would check fuel pressure. If you have a scanner that will read code 6 look for any misfires on bank 1 .

What kind of truck? What engine? What damage/repair/mods? What recent maintenance/service?

Check Engine Light

its a 02 F150 5.4 L .No mods been done to it all only a Air Intake by K&N

Overloading a K&N with oil can affect the MAF, which could conceivably set other codes. It's worth checking/cleaning.

Check Engine Light

Hey guys thanks for the help now im getting different codes such 303, 316 and still 171.The code 303 says its clyinder missfire what do i do to fix thanks.

Is the engine acting up? if so what isit doing. Last week, mine broke a coil pack and started bucking and stuttering...got it replaced and no more SEL....so anyway, I know that wasnt any help...Im just trying to get my post count up :-)

How many miles on the truck - and how many miles since the plugs, wires, and fuel filter were changed?

Check Engine Light

mileage on the truck is 83,000 and last change on plugs and filter was 3 months ago

My vote goes for a bad coil pack. Very common problem.
