WTF? Yesterday it was a 4.4L today it's a 3.8L. WTFF FORD? Make up your effing minds, post the chit on the internet and get the eff one with it. Crap like this pizzes me off to no end. Quit flip flopping and do the right thing and for GOD's sake quite putting underpowered engines in vehicles. It's no wonder they loose $24k a minute.

2007 was the next tier up and theres alot of companies who can't make the cut. that might be y ford keeps changing their mind. some diesels have made the cut and are still putting out the hp. i don't know about detriot or cummins but i do know caterpillar is meeting the standard and doing it pretty well.

F150 Diesel ? ........ Hmmm, where I have this one before ?
2003
Oh yes, the so called Baby Powerstroke 4.5L V-6 that Ford decided not to put into the trucks after International had already built the plant in Huntsville, AL to manufacture them.

Who knows what Ford will do, and who can trust they'll actually put it into trucks. Ford has got some work to do keep sales up.
From what I've read, the latest is a 4.4L V8 diesel , a massive 330hp and 700nm(516 ft/lb) of torque ! see here:

in the 60's big HP for diesel trucks was a 220 cummins- they would still do 80 on a a flat fully loaded.
ever get passed by an old Greyhound doing 85- good bet it was running a 6V71 . that's 426 cid
diesels are built so damn heavy due to the high compression ratio and torque output that if you give them enough cooling and enough turbo big horse power and torque numbers are acheivable. of course a diesel will never rev as fast as a gasser.
1952 Indy pole sitter was running a diesel.
