Spinning using brake

I have an 06 4.2L 2wd f150 and its got the small stock tires on it so im just burning those up before i get bigger tires soon and have been using brake to spin. Is that bad on your engine or bad on anything for my truck.

Sound like you are powerbraking. It's not the greatest thing to do with your truck, but who am I to tell you how to drive. I wouldn't be doing it all the time, I even do it on occasion.

it's not really bad for your engine, but it is terrible for your transmission and rear end. also, you run the risk of blowing a tire if you burn them for too long and overheat them.

It's not too good for your brakes either.

Sure a qt of Penzoil under each rear tire wil get them roasting quite nicely

As far as i know. Bad for trans. bad for brakes. not the best for paint and plastic if rubber is really hot. bad for engine prolly alittle bit also cause it is having to work hard to get them spinning. thats all i know about.

You can overheat your tranny easily if you do a burnout for a long time. I think Neal was pushing his luck, until his truck hit overdrive and locked down!
