Yes, and I'm about to do it again. I've only given it a couple of test drives. After changing the solenoids, I'm still getting a P0743 code. It shifts smoothly with no shudder (as before). I'm wondering if I should have replaced the internal wiring harness, or if some of the harness problems I've been reading are related to a external harness.

Thanks again. I've read these and did replace all of the solenoids on the first round.
I plan on pulling the pan, adding a drain plug and replacing this (internal) wire harness. Along with a new filter. I did notice this harness has some circuitry in it (diode exposed). Can anyone advise if I should be looking for anything additional for this error code?
Thanks!

A few years ago my CEL came on. I went to AZ to have the codes pulled and they said it was a trans code that only the dealer could pull.
I took it to my local Ford dealer where my Ford tech buddy worked. He informed me that (2) internal solenoids and the internal wire harness had to be replaced.
Being it was still under warranty I did not have to pay for it.

I have always, since adulthood, liked to do my own work on a buddy's lift usually. I was a trooper since '78, you make friends with wrecker operators and always, have a good go to shop for those times.
Anyway, since 1981 when I transferred here, I've been really good friends with a few and often, I would take my personal car or police car there for service, and do it myself while he worked in next bay. If it was the police car, we ran a ticket on it just like if he had done it, just my way of helping him and it kept me "familiar" with my car that I relied on … and the Dept's car was looked after as well. I used to clean those "bobbin" plugs, maybe get a couple more out of his junk box & clean them too … and if the car was getting a lot of miles & if I expected to get a new one before next trans service, often I put at least three or four back in the pan. Some reason, I never did that on my personal cars … just those I figured were headed to auction in Richmond. Over a 30 plus year career, I think I had like 14.
We thought it was funny. I enjoyed those good times. One day a supervisor walked in as I was putting a shift kit in my then Plymouth police car. "What ya doin?" he asks ….. he knowed damn well. Miss him, he passed away a few years ago.
One day, my buddy's youngest sister pulled up outside to get gas, I walked over to the door and looked out, she was then / is still "a looker" in every way, I said "GOOD GOLLY" and heard a loud bang as his head hit the lift he was under. He came over, looked out and said "That's just my sister" …. as he rubbed his head.
I said, "Yeah, well, she ain't mine".
We had great times.
