Question How to level out my 4X4

I have a '00 F150 5.4 4X4 Lariat. The nose of the truck is like 2-3 inches lower than the *** end especially after I installed my brush guard. Is there a company that makes a leveling kit for my truck or is there another cheaper way to level out the truck without effecting anything? Thank you.

Thanks, but I can't find the spacers anywhere. Are there any other safe methods of bringing up the nose a couple of inches? Thanks.

Coil spacers won't work....

because there are no coil springs. 4x4's have torsion bars which have to be cranked up to raise the front end. I'm planning on doing mine in the spring once it gets warmer here.

If you crank up the torsion bars, don't forget to take your truck in for an alignment.

BTW, what will you do when you put a thousand pounds in the bed?

crank it up

I cranked mine up and had no problems. It raised mine about 1 - 1 1/2 ". Look at my gallery for a pic of the bolt that needs to be turned and good luck.

Do I need to bring the truck in for an alignment after I crank up on the torsion bars? How much should I tighten them? Did that effect the ride at all? Also, the most weight thats going in the bed of my truck will be 2 dirtbikes so i'm not worried about the rear end sagging down. Thanks.

Depends

Some people say that they crank there torsion bars up and they're fine. I'm going to crank mine and then take it in for an alighnment in the spring just to play it safe. I've heard that it stifffens up the ride some but I'm not really worried about that. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know who or where to get blocks to raise the back an inch or two? Also is there any procedure on cranking the torsion bars?

Thanks!

I cranked up my torsion bars awhile ago. With my truck sitting in the carport floor, I measured through the centre of the wheel to the inside of each fender to get the relative heights of the four corners. My passenger side front sat abot 1.25 inches lower than the drivers side. I then cranked up the passenger side torsion bar one turn at a time to check the results as I went. Before taking a new measurement, climb up on the bumper and jump up and down to gat an accurate reading. I think I turned the bolt a total of 3 turns or so to get that 1.25 inches.
I don't know about the alignment; there's conflicting information about that. I just had one done to be on the safe side. I just spent $1000 on tires and didn't want to wreck them for the sake of saving $40 to have the front end aligned.
Hope this helps.
