Moog Ball Joint Help

So lately I've had some bad squeaking and grinding in the front end when I turned. I replaced the upper control arms and upper and lower ball joints with Moog greaseable ball joints and UCA. However I'm still having the squeaking and grinding, it actually sounds worse now I think. Any idea what it could be? I need to figure it out soon, going on a trip and I'll need my truck. I don't want to break down on the road.

Probably bushings. Sway bar links make more of a clunk when they're worn and not a squeak or grind.

2008 XL you are right. Shop said they were shot and needed to be replaced, so got some Moog lowers on the way.

Well I'll be adding lower bushings to my list of things to change next month. By the time I'm done I'll have a whole new front end. So far I'm doing shocks and struts, upper and lower ball joints, outer tie rods ends, 2wd to 4wd brake hub and rotor conversion, brake pads, and now lower control arm bushings. I might as well do it all while everything is apart.

Yea I've done shocks and just changed upper control arms and upper and lower ball joints. Once I get the lower control arms I'm done, maybe I'll do tie rods later down the road. Go with moog ball joints, they are greaseable and will last longer

Glad you figured out the issue! Let us know how the job of replacing the lower bushings goes.

I'm going to be redoing most of my front suspension soon as maintenance, but I've heard the lower bushings are annoying to charge. However, I'd still like to do it.

Sadly I won't be doing the job, I don't have enough time in the day to work on it with my co-op for school. I also have to drive to Charlotte on friday so I'm having a local shop put them on for me. But they are charging less for the lowers than the uppers so I don't think they would be as hard to change compared to the uppers since I'm only paying labor.
