Try figuring out what the dimensions and rates are on the oem springs and then call a manufacturer like Eibach or H&R and tell them what you are trying to do and I'm sure they will have something that will work.

You might be surprised at what you can acheive when you put a little effort into it

Your truck doesn't have coilsprings. It has torsion bars. Also, the Supercrew has te softest torsion bars available from Ford for increased ride quality. You can back off the preload on the torsion bars to improve ride quality, but this lowers the front end.

to add to what wandell was saying, if you bought the truck used, its a possibility someone before you "cranked" or tightened the torsion bars for a free lift kit. so you may be experiencing a stiffer then stock ride because of what someone else has done.

i was thinking of that. what is stock ride height? or better yet, what is the stock adjustment on the torsion bars for comparison sake? is there a measurement from the factory or are they a little different with a ballpark?

well the best way to tell is looking from the side of the truck, assuming everything is stock, you should have the *** end up by 1-2" compared to the front. Here is my stock 2wd 2003 truck for comparison

yup thats about what its like in comparison just higher front and rear due to 4x4. i am intending on throwing fresh shocks on all the way around as well since i dont know when or if they have been replaced. the truck had over 200,000km when i bought it so i dont know how they ride when new so i have nothing to compare it to.
