Where to buy 1" rear lift ?

I found this at Fat Bob's for $100.... http://www.fatbobsgarage.com/cart/pr...17145-182.html
but that seems a bit high for 4 U-bolts, and a couple small rectangle blocks of steel....

Anywhere cheaper ?

Thanks,
Fish

PS, My truck is sitting just about perfectly level "without" the boat trailer attached to it, and no fishing tackle in the bed..... but since here shortly, it will always be carrying this load, I want it to sit level "with the extra load". If on rare occasion I disconnect the boat trailer, and it then sits (temporarily) 1" high in the rear, that will be okay. I just don't want it bulldogging the other 98% of the time....

100 bucks sound about right. The pic in your link shows a single pin design so I'd call before you order just to make sure they're not confused. Probably just using stock photos though.

Autospring makes a 1 1/2" kit for 120. ---> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-...QQcmdZViewItem

Thank you FoMoCo.....

I guess I have to stop and remember that in the USA, in 08', $100 is not even a tank of gas ! Just seemed like a lot for a few U-bolts, and a couple little chunks of steel....

Then again, $4 for a freaking 32 oz Gatoraid, and a candy bar sounds like more than it should be too !

Oh well, what's a poor guy gonna' do ?

Peace,
Fish

Fish, your best bet would be to add a AAL (add-a-leaf). They are specifically meant to increase payload and help for towing with a heavy tonque weight, as well as add 1-1.5" of lift to the rear. I know skyjacker, pro-comp, and autospring all make them. Just know that they will slightly stiffen the ride in the back.

I'd question "Fat Bob" ... We need double pins, not a single pin.

Fish, I just ordered the Autospring AAL earlier this week. Hopefully it will come in before this weekend. I will let you know how it goes.

I vote for an AAL, especialy since you say you tow a boat. You will get better results and performance from the AAL than a block.

And I am with Thumper. I havn't been impressed with much I have seen from Fat Bob's. Not to mention they widely advertise the 3" leveling kit, which we all know is too much front lift without drop brackets.

I needed a 1inch block to even things up on my '06. I checked out the Street Scene section and found someone with an FX2 that they lowered (removed their 1 inch block). I emailed them, paid for shipping....I did need new ubolts at 38 bucks for 4. There should be some used ones from FX2's floating around.....

Well....

nothing against the add-a-leafs, for people that might need them, but I definately don't. Total weight between fishing tackle in the bed, and my very light trailer toungue weight, probably won't ever exceed 250 lbs.
Don't want, or need to stiffen my rear suspension whatsoever.

Peace,
Fish

Have you ever had an add-a-leaf? My guess is that no, because honestly I couldn't tell a difference from before or after with a 1-1/2" add-a-leaf.

i would vote aal if your towing. i just installed mine. super easy install i thought. all you really need is c clamps and a few wrenches, floor jack and jack stands. the rougher ride from the aal i actually like. truck seems to ride better than before but im sure back seat riders will hate it to death
