Pro Comp 6" or Rize 8"

What does everyone see as the advantages and disadvantages between these two setups? I want to maintain the closest to stock ride I can get while being able to go off road anywhere I want. Has anyone experienced how both of these lifts ride first hand?

Haven't experienced both, but I like mine. It rides pretty much the same as stock. I think that the only thing that is different is a slightly larger turning radius.

Another vote for Rize 8" ... I had it on my 2006 F150. I've also owned a Rancho 4" and have a lot of friends with Procomps and Fabtechs. The Rize is definately built better, rides better, etc. The Rize also has a steering system that puts the steering rack on roller bearings and allows for the vehicle to steer just like stock.

I have no experience with the Rize kit, but my ProComp lift has worked well for me. The ride, steering and other aspects are close enough to stock that you won't be concerned with it... the mud tires on the other hand are more noticable than stock.

X2. If I had the money, I would've went Rize for sure. But then there is the added cost for the Rize, plus getting 37" tires instead of 35" tires, and then gears would have to be done....it all adds up to quite a bit more money than I wanted to spend. Bottom line = How much money do you want to spend??? If you have the money, get the Rize for sure. You will not regret it.

what size tires do you want to run is the first question. 35's or 37's
how much money you got to spend is the next?
i wanted a rize but stupid regulations is WI makes that illegal.

i am going to agree with others and say if i had the extra money at the time i would have done the Rize. But i also have never cared for the ride of a tire larger than a 35. i knew i wasnt going with anything larger so for me i did not need the extra 2". and if you find that you do just do spacers and you are set. but again my opinion and remember i dont take my 20s off road. its purely for looks.

I'm going to be running 35"s on 18"s. Right now I'm pretty set on the pro-comp 6" coil over. The Rize at my local shop costs about $500 more than the pro-comp installed. I think installed they are somehthing like $3100 for the pro-comp and $3600 for the Rize.

Has anyone ran 35"s on the Rize lift? I'm somewhat afraid that 35"s might look a little small. I wouldn't mind running 37"s but I'm going to be getting free 35"s from a friend every fall when he buys new tires to plow snow so I would most likely stick with the 35"s.

As far as cost of the tire goes between 35"s and 37"s its only a matter of like $200 bucks. Is it really necessary to re-gear if you do the 8" lift? Shop told me that after my magnaflow, airraid intake and edge evolution chip I shouldn't really feel a difference in performance.

the guy who lifted my truck did one with a Rize the week before mine and the guy ran a 35 and they didnt look small but it did look awkward to me. from my experience i would say regear if you did do 37s since i do have 35s with the 3.73 gears, the edge evo, and the magnaflow and i have the ability to get up and go but not like i really want. i think the 37 would drag you down a little too much.

There are a lot of reasonable posts in this thread so far.

If I am reading it correctly, you can get the ProComp stage 2 lift kit installed for $500 less than just buying the Rize? Or did the $3,600 include installation on the Rize?

If you are planning on 35's you don't really need more than a 6" lift, and if you rub a little bit you can always adjust the coilovers on the ProComp lift. I would say save the extra money for something else, or pay off some other bills with it.

The prices that I stated include the labor for installation. I look at it that the lift only costs about $500 dollars more but then I gotta get 37" tires which cost a little more and I gotta get 20" rims for the 37" tires which cost a little more and I may have to regear it. I think that I'm going to do the pro comp 6" with 18" xD rockstars wrapped in 35"s. I'm going to take the money that would go into the 8" and through on some AMP powersteps which surprisingly make the truck look a lot bigger because you do not have the nerf bar.

If you're only going to run the 35s, forever than get the Procomp.

If you plan on upgrading to 37s, get the Rize WITHOUT a doubt especially since it's only $500 more.

Neuspeed, your truck looks amazing. I don't think I've ever seen it before but it looks really good man !! Kings would look amazing with that white.
