ok help needed
Ok guys i need some help. Well ive been wanting to do a 6" suspenion and 3" body with 38's and 4.88's. Ive posted a few threads about this and got some greast feedback but i emailed some people and no one will get back to me. My biggest concern i have about doing this is MPG so i was wondering does any body have 6" suspension 3" body with 38's and 4.88's on a 2000 4x4? So does anybody have this set up? beacue i know a few people do but no one has told me what they get for MPG's, so if anybody could please tell me that would be awesome and help my decission alot. Also if i dont do that where is the cheepest ( in price) i can find a 8" rize suspension? well hopefully somebody can help, thanks a tun.

First the mpg is gonna suck. But with 4.88 gears you probably could get anywhere from 10-15mpg mixed driving. It really depends on how you drive the truck. Stay in moderate speeds and you will get better mpg. Also what engine do you havce 4.2, 4.6 or 5.4?
The 4.88's and 38" tires will put you close to the stock gear to tire ratio, so your mileage will be pretty close to stock if you drive it reasonably. 10-15 mpg is my geuss.
And Rize doesnt make a kit for the 97-03 F150. Only the newer 04+ F150
The Biggest Lifts for our are Whiplash Suspension and Full Throttle Suspension, which i wouldnt recommend either. The Full Throttle is the better of the two!

Yeah i wouldnt worry about it, if you have the money to keep up with gas or another vehicle for a daily driver. Im pretty sure your mpg will be around 10-13.
IMHO im not going to let the Economy live my life. If they want to raise gas prices ill pay I cant drive a small car. Ill work more hours and take on more jobs to give me enough money to drive a lifted truck if need be. Gas prices are a perfect example of capitalism and i love that its possible, I just wish I would have gottin stocks in oil...
Your Truck will look great! And imo it is well worth the money!

i wanted to stick with 13.5" wide tires and to go 38's they are pretty much all 15.5 wide. i also wanted plenty of fender well clearance. But the main reason is that with the 13.5 wide tire i could run a 10" wheel, and i have had issues with wider wheels making this model truck vibrate alot. I did the gears myself but if you get a shop to do it you will spend about $1500 or so.

Well lets see at first i was scrared as H***, but my buddy owns a precision machine shop and he assured me we could do it. So i said ok and started do my research and found a web site that had a detailed picture artile done step by step. The hard part was the shims and getting it perfect. That is where my machine shop buddy's expertise came in. It took us most of the weekend with a few ok a lot of beer breaks attached is the site i found. now that i have done it i would never pay someone $1500 to do it. Good luck. if you get into it and need help let me know. i will answer any questions i can.
