full throttle suspension?

my local offroad shop recommended full throttle suspension to me if i wanted more then 6" of lift. they have a good reputation. after doing some looking around some people have suggested that fullthrottle and whiplash are the same company. whiplash, on the other hand, doesnt have such a good reputation. i looked at their kits and they look identical and they are both located in fresno, ca. anyone know if they are the same company? or know anything about the company whiplash?

so would i............ if i had a 4x4. wouldnt take a rize kit off road either. to tall in my opinion (the 12" that is) for off roading. i just want a big street truck that i can take off road every once and a while (light off roading). i guess ill have to settle for a 6" fabtech with 2.5" spacer and a 3" body lift. 11.5" of lift isnt bad right?

there is a member (cant remember the name) that just took his 12" rize off road and said it messed up the front wheel drive and doesnt plan to take it off road again. so with that said, why spend the money for a rize when its nothing more then a drop down kit like all the others......its just how IFS is lifted. if i could afford to do a SAS i would.

Whiplash and Fullthrottle are NOT the same company. get full throttle. Whiplash has had so many lawsuits I cant count. From stuff breaking to falling off.

The only way to go for a 10+inch suspension is full throttle. Not only does their stuff rock... their customer service is second to none.

Ps mixed reviews on full throttle u must be smoking. No other company comes close in terms of quality and design. They have had magazine coverage and plenty of pro reviews on tv shows.

Look around on some extreme 4wd type sites. ftr is one company that aways comes on top. (not trying to have a bias or anything.)

also lucky if the dude broke his front (not specific on what broke) end then maybe he should of thot twice about a 12 suspension. IFS can only hold up so much weight. ie thats why they say the max safe allowed tire on their 10 lift is 37 inch tires.

You cant expect insane 4wd performance from anything but a solid front conversion. Anything less you still have to be careful as it just wont be able to handle it.

May I ask what size tires he was on?

Sorry this post is a tad scattered.

i think it was a 40" tire.

id go with full throttle if not for the price. their 12" kit is about $4500 and a little to pricey for me. a 6" fabtech kit with 5" rear block is about $1600 locally (ive seen cheaper on the internet). a 2.5" leveling kit is $70. a 3" body lift is $1250 installed. i can do the suspension lift myself so the total is $1600+$1250+$70=$2920 thats 11.5" for $3000 compared to $4500 for a 12" lift from full throttle. id dont care how good of a company they are, im not paying $1500 for that extra .5" lift. and with 12" of suspension lift, im sure id need a new drive shaft so thats more money. and since fabtech makes a great kit and i dont plan on doing any crazy offroading i guess ill go that route

oh well, thanks for the info guys

I work in the aftermarket biz, and wouldnt do either Whiplash/ FTS. The FTS kits are better, but theres also Bulletproof that makes a stout kit...but the Rize 12" kit is the way to go...but be ready to spend some bank. What is all comes down to is alot of money for a huge lift thats not going to take the strain of any abuse off road (you truck that is)...unless you 4 link it and add the right size driveshafts etc... But who cares about off road, your not a F250-350 thats got a solid axle and can be abused (they still break)...look at all the guys on here with messed up rigs, due to over the top lifts (with cheap short cuts to make it big) Save your money and buy a solid axle truck to put 40's on.

my 2 cents...im going 8" rize, but i still plan to use it and not worry too much.

Look up these guys www.bncoffroad.com located out of Pasadena,TX. They have grrrreat products and make 6-14" kits for F150's. Theyre brand is 3rd coast suspension. Check out there site lots of pics of trucks. www.3rdcoastsuspension.com also. I would go with the Rize kits if your lookin for quality and good looking parts. Ive been researching this crap for years and Rize IMO is #1 for big lifts. Oh and no, Whiplash is not Full throttle.

They don't have to many distributors...so more than likely you'll end up getting it from them (or a custom shop that does fab work...not just bolt ons). They are similar to the Rize kit meaning you have piece you rear end to gether...its not included, and you're going to need coil overs up front....so when its all said and done you should have just bought the Rize...lol
