I am new to the F150 as well as to this site, I have been hearing a a lot about leveling kits can anyone tell me about them, what they do, what are the benefits and drawbacks to having them, what are the best ones and where I can get one.

Thanks,

A leveling kit will raise the front end of your truck. If you have a 4x2 most people use a 2" and a 4x4 a 2.5". The benefits to these are 1. that it will give your truck a level stance 2. you will be able to fit larger tires. On a rather baised opinion the autospring is one of the best you can get it on Ebay.

I completely agree. They are a great mod to your truck!

+1 on the Autospring

My 2.5" kit is being shipped as I type this.

IMHO, the kits that relocate the top strut mount are superior. They allow the full range of travel of the spring and strut, versus adding height by changing the spring compression or altering the length of travel of the strut piston itself. You still get the factory ride, just the front strut frame mount is 2.5" higher then it was before.

Mine arrived today via Ebay. I got the AS since that's what most people recommended on here. I have a 4x2 and got the 2.5" kit, but I also plan to install a set of 2" blocks in the rear and fit some larger tires onto my stock 17" rims. I'll probably go with a set of 33" tall tires.

If you end up investing in a leveling kit, I'd recommend Auto Spring.

Great pic of the spacer prior to final installation!! No worries about spring compressors or changing the spring seats which would clunk later in life.
