Lets see your system!!
I've been seeing alot of really nice systems, both professionally installed with premade boxes and homemade setups. Post your system in your truck and give us some details. I've gotten a few ideas off of some of the pics I've seen, so I thought I'd set up this post for future system builders to get some ideas of there own. Here's a few pics of mine:
Two eights surrounding a 6 channel RF amp, 6X8's 3way coaxials in the rear doors, 6 1/2 RF components in the front doors, all hooked in the factory deck.
Here's a crazy box I built for my brother, houses 8 12" Audiophile RF subs, three RF amps, and 4 RF Lightning caps. Not sure what the door speakers were.
Same stuff, but in a 99 F350 dually.

They sound great IMO. However, I am on the lookout for a set of 10's that'd work with a small air space,~.4 cubic feet. A ported ten was a consideration when I installed the eights, it's just that I had the eights from a previous system and I just finished building my house so money was tight. I also built a single box with two eights and that seemed to hit very well:
I can probably guess that two non ported eights will punch better than a single ported ten. The ported ten should hit longer and sound deeper. I could tell you that I'd be happy with either setup. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I don't have the box anymore so I can't get the measurements off of it. I actually built it in place and took measurements from the truck along the way. I'm not sure what the air space was either, I calculated it while I was building it and it was within specs, and I didn't write it down anywhere. I built it back in 1999, but if I had to guess, it was around .75 to .85 cubic feet.

For those that have asked me in the past or may want to know now - I have designed an enclosure to fit under the back passenger side seat of my 2000 F150 Supercab. I used 3D modeling software to design the box and I used enclosure design software to tune the port based on the box's volume.
I have not built the box yet but here is what I have:
Enclosure volume = 0.81 cubic feet
3 inch port
10 Inch Sub (Infinity 1030W)
Terminal cups on the side.
This box is optimized for the "60%" side of my 60/40 split bench. It is as much volume as you can have without taking up leg / foot space. Like I said, I have not built it yet but I am planning on selling my plans on eBay. Probably $10 or $15.
I'm really excited about building the box but I need two things - time and money. I'm working on both.

Grr wish I had a digital camera.
Anyway I gots
Pioneer 4600mp HU
Cheap azz Pioneer 5x7's in front
No back speaks
2 12 inch eclipse sw6123 series subs (base models)
JBL bp600.1 amp
Box is 1.9 CU Ft. per sub. Totaly got rid of the bask seat and the people sit on the sub box.
Once I decide to do some work Im ordering some RE comps to stick on my rockford 301s amp. Or possibly some dayton 6.5 inch mids, audax tweeters, and dayton crossovers. Want to get new subs too. Either Inctiminator Audio 187's. Adire Shiva's, Eclipse Aluminums, or something of the like.
