Seized 5.4 Triton How to Remove Engine
Hey just bought a 2006 f150 5.4L with 190.000km and was driving it home from the guys house when oil pressure dropped and truck turned off. got it towed to the shop and mechanic said it need a new engine. Already bought my new engine will be here tomorrow but the question is, if i cant spin the crank how will i get the torque converter bolts off..
whats the best way to do this?? can i remove the engine with the Torque converter attached ?? is there enough clearance. what other ways can i get to those bolts without spinning the engine. please any help would be awesome!

It's not done yet. I'm paying a friend to do it at his shop, and he's taking his time! I bought a engine from Eagle. I believe they get engines from AER who also rebuild the Motorcraft engines. I paid $3200 for the engine, about $800 in parts, and $1200 in labor to get the engine installed.

Yes, you can remove an engine with the torque converter attached. It may be easier to loosen the trans mounts, driveshafts, ect, and slide the trans back some. Take care doing so because you can screw up the input bushing on the transmission. Ive had to do this twice on older ford trucks ive ripped apart.
