Thumbs up Installed a trans accumulator pressure valve kit.

Shifts are the same as stock around town. At half throttle, the shifts are definately firmer and quicker. At WOT the shifts are FIRM! Scratches first to second every time!!Probably second to third but i can't hear the tires over the blower.
A very worthwhile mod. Thanks JL!

Cool

How is this different from installing a shift kit or raising the line pressure? I may be interested in doing this mod as well. Would I have to remove the firmer shift program from my current tuning?

Thumbs up

Mines far from an L, but I want to do similar to the 4R100 in mine. What accumulator did you use? Any details would be great.

I used the valve from Johnny Lightning. It is a "Diablo" unit.
Gator, the cost was $80.00, cheaper than a shift kit.
CaptO we can go for a ride whenever you get back up north!
Trevor, this valve's only purpose is to increase line pressure. It is done without the springs in the shift kits. It's just the first step in improving the shifts, but I dont think I need a shift kit now. When you floor it, it shifts damn hard! I love it.

Dave of course you know my next question. When can we get together for a "test ride" so I can feel the difference? E-mail me at BlackLightninSVT@aol.com

I say we have our next NJ-NY meet during the next WSCC auto-x event in July at the Palisades.

Talking Transmission valve

i just had the Diablo Performance Transmission Valve installed last week on my Lightning, and it does make quiet a difference. I really enjoy the firmness and response it gives. It is a good mod to consider.
