Question Filter kits in the on-line store

Anybody know if either of the filter kits in the on-line store fit the 00? Does the 99 K&N kit work on the 00? Called K&N today and they said the are still working on the 2000 kit. What about the Airaid kit? Seems like lots of people are going that direction. I would love to have the PSP but don't know if I will wait for and extended period while they play catch up. Any advice?

I have pretty much decided on the K&N filter and superchip. My salesman at Steeda said he just got the '00 chip. I would think that the filters are the same. 550 miles and the inside of my tail pipes are BLACK. How bout yours?

I am still undecided on the Basani cat-back or just leaving it stock?

WAIT for Sals.Air aid is like a factory air box but better.Sals gives you all the protection *AND* the supercharger scream that is worth the money itself! I had downs but the quality is NOTHING and I mean nothing compared to sals.Plus Sals uses the latest technology cone filter.

I just got a Downs last Friday and returned it this Monday. What a piece of junk. Looked like it had been made by a high school drop out. Nothing fit. Junk, don't buy. I guess I'll live with the K&N filter as Sal will probably never catch up. He isn't even taking orders. Too much of a good thing.

I purchased the Airaid filter from the on-line store and am very happy with it. I am across the bay in Tampa. E-mail me if you want to see it.

Careful spending 50 on Replacement K&N. It does nothing for the seat of the pants or the track. It does make the Boost guage climb higher but it has not resulted in results that can be seen or felt... I am one of the many waiting on Sal. If he were in Texas he would have hired some laborers from down South to help with the repetitive work to catch up.

RU4RACN - I ordered the newest Superchip yesterday. It's at the speed shop. Picking it up after work. Someone else from this board was over there last week letting them dyno his truck. I don't know if he posted any info. They claim it is fresh from the dyno. Nope my pipes aren't black yet.

Lightningquick - I would love to have the PSP filter. Just not sure I want to wait until hell freezes over.

noelvm - Thanks for the heads up. I'll pass.

Silver_2000_ ! and 98_SVT_COBRA - been down that road. Unless you get more air to the filter it doesn't matter how freely it flows.

ToyMan - I sent you an email with a phone number. I would love to see the Airaid installed. Might not be able to do it until next week. I want to get your input on how much it helped or not, and to see how much additional blower noise you get. Which is the number 1 reason to by a filter kit right?

It was my L at Superchips last Thursday. The only data available before I left was an increase of 50 lbs of torque.

I am going to the track tonight and see what improvements occur to my 1/4 times. My best before any mods was 14.08 @ 97.69 mph.

I will post further information under a seperate message once I receive all the data from Superchips and of course my new et's.

ps. Got your e-mail will call or reply.

Cool

I got the Downs intake and it fit great. The only problem I had is the support rod lower nut was the wrong size. This is my intake.

ToyMan - Since I'm running the same program as you are I hope the chip takes a couple of seconds off your time Best of luck at the track. What track to you go to? The only one I know of around here is Sunshine in Largo (or is it Clearwater over there).

I wasted $39 bucks on the stock replacement K&N, it went slower than the stock element.

Went to the track last night in Bradenton (Desoto dragstrip). Best time was 13.99 @99.81 mph on my first run. Not a big improvement of the 14.08 I ran before any mods, Made about 11 runs and only 1 sub 14 . ?????? Both times at the track my best time was on the first run

I ran with bed cover (ARE II) and spare tire and about 1/2 tank of gas.

I was launching real good except for 1 run which i ran 14.35 @ 98.80

Tremendous acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear but is not very robust in 3rd gear.

Met a guy from Bartow in a 99 Cobra. Ford had done a lot of mods to his Cobra because people were complaining that the Cobra was not living up to published standards. He ran 14.3 best. I beat him every time we went head-to-head. He was upset that he coundn't beat me. When he bought his Cobra the dealer had a L in stock but told him the Cobra was faster LOL. All-in-all he was not happy.

Check to see if the chip is in the #2 position???There is no reason at all you should not be running at least 13.50 at 101

LightningQuick,

I was in the #2 side of the chip. Tried 1 run on the #1 setting and ran a 14.350 @ 98.80 mph.
