Question e-bay superchip

put a bid in on a "superchipz" for my 99 f-150 4.2ltr v-6. I bid a max of $35.00, if I get it good, if I don't, that's OK too. my question is....has anyone had any experience with this chip? It hooks up to the air sensor according to the info on e-bay. They claim it also makes timing adjustments as well as air/fuel adjustments for greater horsepower. Also is ca. legal. The buyer comments seem to be positive for the most part. A couple "didn't make any difference" and a couple "didn't do anything at all" comments. Any info would be helpful. I know "you get what you pay for" saying. just looking for a few more horses.

You didn't link to the product. But if you "WIN" , I think you'll be buying a 79 cent resistor for $35 bucks!

can you say duh!

well after a little research on the product i think wmcnally is right about the 79 cent resistor!!!! i can't retract my bid from e-bay (tried, they said no!) so if i win i'll have the worlds most expensive, inexpensive resistor!!!! if i win the bid i'll install it and let everyone know about the results. that is, as soon as i extract my head from my.........no don't wanna go there! thanks again for the input

It's a scam. Even if you put it in, it's very tough to trick the computer since it is a closed loop system.

chip from e-bay

I ended up paying $15.00 for the chip on e-bay. I installed it two days ago (easy install) and after taking a computer re-set drive I've noticed two things. 1. more horsepower (despite al the na-sayers) 2. lower gas milage. The lower mileage is to be expected it's a trade off for more power. I'ts not the 40 more that the add claims but it is more. I've had the truck 4 years and I can tell a difference! I'll keep the horsepower and give up the gas mileage! It's not a great loss anyway. The guy selling them ships right away (got it in two days) and it really is easy to install (10 minutes). You can e-mail me at socal345@yahoo.com if you want to buy one without the e-bay bid. I'll give you his e-mail address.
Hope this info helps.

Advice here is free.

Since stupid advice here costs the same as good advice here, you are always free to follow whichever you have convinced yourself is right.

Whatever.... it's your truck. Just don't other coming here down the road whining like a baby because your cats are toasted from the rich mixture.
