fuel pump/wiring/relay??

94 f150 6cyl dual tank two wheel drive..fuel pump motor is heard periodically when turning key on. no corrosion apparent...have hopefully narrowed down that it isnt wiring. Relay..idk. Im not confident enough to think i know what im doing with tester and wiring. have read many different situations regarding pump...wiring...relay..etc. could anyone tell me possibly how much mechanic would charge to diagnos exact issue? because..I am confident in replacing a part...including fuel pump. thanks alot.

Is this on both tanks or just one?

With front tank only being your problem that would eliminate the EEC, EEC relay, fuel pump relay, and inertia cut off switch. Leaves the tank selector switch, wiring to the pump, pump connector, or the pump itself.
