coolant tank overflowing

So today the coolant tank overflowed today, it did it yesterday also.
I also believe that this happened before I bought it because I replaced the overflow tank because it was coated it rust. I flushed the coolant system until it was clear and then added 50/50 mixture. How do I stop it from doing this?

That looks like it needs flushed again for sure first of all.

Is it overheating when it pukes?

WoW! That is what it looks like after a flush?
I would say get some coolent system flush and run it through and then flush with a hose again. Gets messy but it worked wonders on mine!
I cant say I have ever seen a system do that...unless it had too much water in it and it got to hot but that would have ended up different lol

Is there any coolant in your oil... That don't look like fresh antifreeze.

That looks like what came out of my system after I got the truck, and it had been sitting for 5 years before I got it. LoL

No nothing in the oil.
It was only a week after the flush it happened, temp gauge read normal and it was only filled to the cold line. Just heard it when I got out of the truck

Have the radiator cap tested or just replace it. Looks like it isn't holding the pressure.

OK, but the overflow tank fills and drains through the radiator cap. They have a gasket (rubber) and a pressure rating. If the gasket is bad or the cap can't hold pressure then it allows the tank to over fill as the motor warms and the coolant expands.

But if the cap is good then I don't know.

Why not just empty that tank out and then run your truck around again and see if it does it?
When I flushed my system I didnt put any in my side tank for three days, and only did it then cause I went across the state and noticed the temp went up a bit more then normal and it was fine after that.

could be that the level is too high or as it was with mine it had the radiator cap that was bad. but as you just flushed the system it could have air in it. mine had it as well first after the air bleeding and the filling on level had no problems anymore.
