u can do it with the engine is place. u can get to all the bolts and drop the pan w/i everything in place just need some universal joint and wobble extensions. might wanna jack the truck up a decent amount to sit under it if possible.

to verify what's a universal joint and wobble extension? I'm not 100% for sure on that one, and I figured I could just jack it up enough to get my arms in there and slip it in place

Your's has the crossmember there too? I think I can do it pretty easy by just undoing it all and dropping the pan to the crossmember I will have about 4 inches of clearance that should be enough to slip the lil thing in there right? mines been leaking for ever my dad told me I need new valve cover gaskets wich is nothing at all to do it's easy that way and then an oil pan gaskget

It's not that easy. You need to remove the exhaust Y-pipe,unbolt the motor mounts from the engine, remove the fan so it doesn't hit the shroud when you jack the engine up.Then after you unbolt the oil pan it still won't clear the oil pump/pick up tube. With the oil pan hanging you must remove the bolts holding the pump/pick up tube in place then drop pump and p/u tube in the pan and remove the pan.

I'm not familiar with the 2x4's. Maybe it is easier on them?? But I know it is a real PITA to get the oil pan off a 4x4.

Since when does the oil pan and transfer case ever come close to eachother? Unless something has changed, you aren't getting the pan out without jacking up the engine.

You don't have to take the pan out. The 93 has a one piece gasket from the factory. With the pan laying inside the crossmember, you can "peel" the old gasket out from around the pan, then install the new one piece gasket in the reverse manner. I can replace one inside of an hour (with my lift, of course).

The original gasket should come out as 1 piece, and it shouldn't have any adhesive/sealant except in a few spots. Read these captions:
