regearing, what brand to go with???

Alright so I know this is probably a common subject but id like some fresh opinions. Im going with a 6 inch fabtech on my 08 XL and regearing to 4.56, just wanted some advice on good brands for the ford 8.8. heard good things about precision and Yukon, haven't heard much about motive, usa, or superior. anybody running any of these brands with 35s? Im willing to spend a little extra for a good set but have no experience with gears. any help would be appreciated!

consult a few of your local driveline shops first.....gears can be done but yer taking a chance if you've never done them...if you don't get them right the first time they'll wear like crap....

yeah gears are the one thing I'm paying to have done. Don't have the tools or the knowledge to jump into that yet. I've talked to a few shops but I wanted to see if there are any guys on here that run these brands in their trucks and how they feel about them.

sometimes shops will give you a better deal if you use their parts that they sell....

but in your consulting with them you may want to ask what the difference in price would be if you brought your own parts in....

my personal choice is Yukon gears....

Several years ago, my son had 4.10 gears installed in his 04 Mustang. The Mustang Shop that installed them used Ford gears that were made by Motion Performance if I remember correctly. He also said that Motive was the new supplier of Ford gears and he wasn't sure they were as good. Anyhow, the gears that were installed in the Mustang made zero noise.

Yesterday I called 4wheelparts and they quoted me $2081.46 for a regear to 4.56 and they use G2 gears. It's the cheapest quote I have found so far though, and that's driving to Jacksonville from Tallahassee.
