Electric Fan Install (Pics & Vid)

I just switched to a thicker radiator which was an option on our trucks. 04-08. Having the radiator allowed me to take some pics of the mounting which some may find helpful. You will also see how I secured the bottom without making brackets.
Broad view.
Lower tab on efans shaved to allow for lower support without making brackets. See next 2 pics.
As you can see the clip on the radiator and modified support on fan mate together nicely. This holds the bottom of the fan assembly tight and prevents you from needed to make additional brackets.
On the passenger side the upper mounting matches perfect. But as described early on in the thread the driverside does not. So below are pics of how to solve this.

There are standard cooling radiators which are 1" thick and super cooling units at 1 3/8's and 1 7/16's.
Rockauto has aftermarket models starting in the $130's plus shipping. The Spectra unit rockauto sells is the thickest at 1 7/16. SPECTRA PREMIUM CU2819.
I got mine used from an 05 truck. RobertP on here sold me his when he had a custom built radiator made for his rig.

to the guys that have used stock F150 fan s
I did the fan conversion about 8 months ago and the only thing I dislike is how loud my fans are. I used a stock set out of a 2010 that was in a junk yard. Im wanting to know if everyone else that use stock fan setups what year truck did they come from, what controller are u using, and are they really loud? I have heard the fans in my parents 13 and a set in a 15 f150 and they are 100 times more quieter. Don't know if I might just a got a really load set by chance. Or if the first year they were in the trucks they might a been loader. Little help here?! Thanks

I have a 07 and used a 13 fan with a painless controller and it works great but is loud at 100%. I have two other 13 f150's for work and when they do spool up they are as loud. I'm in florida so my a/c is on almost all the time so i don't get the luxury of the occasional 50%, but the bonus room to get to the belt is worth it all to me because i have a whipple and change belts a little more often then stock.

I'm guessing yours are running at 100%. Can you advise what controller you are using and how you set it? With that info myself or someone else should be able to help.

Glad I could help.
The fans are fairly quiet at 50% which is where they should normally operate. They are very loud at 100%

I'm running a painless controller. And they are running 50% kicking on at 188°. You can hear the change when they kick on to 100%. In just wondering if they are a load set of fan since they are out of a 2010 junkyard f150. Trying to see what everyone else has for year models of which the fans came from.

Upon reviewing this one I discovered the 70amp fuse was arcing due to a crack in the plastic body of the fuse. It appears it may have killed the controller with power surges.
