2009 ford f150 150,000k

I need help I just bought a nice looking ford but the guy told me I need a new cam phaser and it is going to cost 6,000 dollars. Over the last 2 months I have owned this truck I have put on new spark plugs 650. 00, new tires 1450.00, stainless steel running boards 900.00, 4 new sensors 450.00, a cover for the back box 500.00 and paid 16,000 for the truck.
If I put in 40/60 oil would this stop the cam phaser from making a funny noise....If you know some one looking for very pretty chromed out truck please let me know....If going to have to by a new one.....maybe someone could lit me know what deals ford has on right now
Thank you in advance

A plug change on a 3 valve can cost even more than that, depends on how many they break.

its a 2009, none should break. 650 was way too much.

Arrrrgggghhhh......I was thinking 2006.

Whoever you are taking it to is hosing you big time - plugs should be no more than $300, a phaser job BOTH sides should be less than 2 grand.

The phasers were pretty much fixed by 2009, you shouldn't have bought the truck if it was making noise. I'd be very hesitant about putting in heavier oil than Ford specifies. It MIGHT quiet them down but it can cause other issues.

Bottom line? You overpaid for a truck with too many miles.
