That one's easy for me -- my '97 Ranger! The 2.3 four-banger was wheezy at times while driving at highway speeds, but that truck was rock-solid reliable over the 17 years I owned it! Best of all, it is still going strong serving as my favorite niece's college vehicle!

Question of the Week: What is the best Ford truck you've owned?
All been equal for me. My 54 and 56 were special but my 2005 5.4 was great as a daily driver. My 2011 and 2014 5.0s have been perfect for my needs. I still prefer the styling of the 2005 over my newer trucks.

This is my first Ford truck but I've had other brands and my father has owned several F-150s and my 2010 FX-4 is by far the best over all. It won't go places or haul as much as some the trucks that I've owned but it's by far the most comfortable and best built. And it beats all of the other, older model F-150s in the family in every respect.

I concur -- my wife's 2005 Escape with the same power train has been a terrific vehicle over the 10+ years and 156,000 miles we have owned it.....

1976 F-100 Ranger, handed down from my Dad, has the fondest memories for me. Basic truck, but four-on-the-floor, bench seat, marker lights on the roof, man, I loved that truck.
2006 F-150 XLT. First 4wd vehicle, 8ft bed, niiiice.
2011 F-150 Platinum Screw currently. Truly an amazingly deluxe yet capable vehicle. It's the current family vehicle for long trips.
Answering with my heart: 1976
With my head: 2011
Honorable mention: 2006

My 06 Lariat was good to 60,000 miles but then I totaled it. Spun out at 65, laid it on its side, destroyed the front and rear and ended back on its three wheels. Broken axle. Not a bruise or sore muscle. Ford tough.
2013 Ecoboost. 126,000 miles and only needed a heater hose. Still incredible mpgs with the high miles. Change the oil every 10,000 miles or so with Mobil 1.
Gave it to my son to use as the shop truck and it's still going very strong.
2015 2.7 that gets even better mileage than the 3.5. 5,500 miles and it's at 24.5 overall average. Hoping that it's just as reliable as the other two.

Wow, lots of good comments.... Wish I could say something good about my 05 FX4 . Just hit 62,000 this week, original owner, and I really can't say anything great about mine. Pinion and differential seals continue to leak, idler bearing, that the dealer said is fine, still screams like a banshee on start up in cold weather, IWE X 3 now, solenoid obviously, parking brake repair (cleaning) is an annual ritual or it will lock in place due to rust. Power window buttons...I can go on and on.
