Pick Your Favorite Old Bowtie

I'm up in Sioux Falls, SD, this week on business and I was able to sneak away this afternoon to the 2014 National Impala Association convention that's taking place about 100 miles east of here in Lake Okoboji, IA.

Here's a link to a photo album in my profile with some shots of what I thought were the nicest cars I saw at the show this afternoon: https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...-2014+nia.html

Take a look for yourself and then post back here with what your favorite car from the show would be!

Oh, and by the way -- if you've ever thought about buying a '60's era Chevrolet for yourself, the only advice I would have is to wait about 5 more years! I think the average age of the car owners at this show had to be around 70 -- my guess is that in about 5 years you are going to start seeing a ton of these cars come on the market.....

Some of my favorite vehicles are late 60s C10s through mid 80's. The boxier gen step sides I think are some of the nicest trucks ever made. It might be something I grab one day to restomod.

Well, I do like the mid 60's Impala's.. We had a '65, but it was a 4 door when I was a kid.. (mid 70's at that time). But it was still a cool car for the time..

While I run Ford Blue Blood for sure, I do have a soft spot for the older Bow-Ties too...

Same with Mopars... If I had 'stupid money' at my disposal, my shop would be filled with late 50's to early 70's vehicles of every make... Mostly Muscle Cars of course, but a few boats too..

But, since it is what it is... I've got the F150 and that's doing it for me!

Vega.

Ok, just kidding.

My favorite bow tie would be a '69 Z/28 or a '63 Split Window Vette.

Since we are dreaming, I want the '69 Z in Lemans Blue with white stripes.

The fuelie 4 speed 'Vette can be any color, as long as its Daytona Blue or Sebring Silver.

If I was going for a Chevy it would have to be a '53-'55 Chevy two door, Gasser style. Yes I know those are two different body styles but those are my favorite years.

Can't really pick just one. But if I had to choose I'd go with the Blue 60 Biscayne, looks like I see headers or custom exhaust, might be packin a punch.

Second choice would be the 63 Impala SS w/the 409.

Looks like a great time btw.

I had a remodle job where we built a parts shop for old Chevy Trucks in Orange Calif. Then after they opened the owner wanted some more work done (week end work), there were soooooo many fine looking late 40's early 50's Trucks that came in I could hardly get anything done. I think I spent half of my time checking out the trucks. I love that era chevy truck.

Being one of those old farts, I learned to drive on the familys 55 Chevy 210. Then I owned a 56 Chevy Convertible, 59 Impala Coupe 283 3speed with OD, 65 4speed 300hp 327 Chevelle, 69 SS396 Chevelle, 82 TransAM(chevy engine), 86 Chevy MonteCarloSS, along with a 72 350V8Truck. Started buying Fords and no longer spent my weekends working on vehicles. Ha!

My favorite bow-tie has to be the 68 SS Camaro. Ever since my grandpa rebuilt one from the ground up and let me drive it when I was 16 and said it would be mine some day,I fell in love. It's all black with chrome hood vents and fenders. The thing is mint and sexy. I wish I had a picture of it. Nothing special under the hood just a carbed 350 and auto trans. Took it to prom when I was 17. Man I love that thing.. That's the only bow-tie I would ever have.

Never grew up around Gm products.. Here is my Grandpa's old truck. Its a 1948 Chevy 2 ton. Grandpa bought it brand new. Where it sits now is where he parked the night he passed away in 1972. Hasnt been touched since, The window is still rolled down from when he parked it.It Only has 28k miles on it with the original tires still on it, Amazing they arent flat.

These were taken in 2010 which was the last time we were at the farm.

Dad said wide open it would run 45mph.

#8 followed by #9.

Classic under-assuming rod and it testosterone infused big brother.

Only drove one GM product in my life...and it was a nice ride: 78 Blazer with 6" lift on 35/12.50/15 BFG A/T's. Cleeeeeeean. Only sold because was offered twice what I paid for it.

Someone should drag her out and put it to use, I'd drive the wheels off that thing.
