Just wanted to say thanks to some of the recommendations in here. Boy have my favorite artists changed. Granger Smith is now my favorite, can't stop listening to him.

Just for some perspective on what a Yankee like me listens to now: (These guys are unheard of up here:

Granger Smith
Whiskey Myers
Bleau Edmonson
Kevin Fowler
Wade Bowen
Eli Young bad - the past albums are incredible
Aaron Watson
Ben Wells
Blackberry Smoke
Brian Davis
Brother Trouble
Casey Donahew Band
Chad Warrix
Chris Janson
Cody Johnson
Curtis Grimes
Doug McCormick
Due West
Earl Dibbles Jr The story behind this is hilarious if anyone follows "him"
Frank Foster
Halfway to Hazard
High Valley
Jamey Johnson
JB and The Moonshine Band
Josh Abbott Band - incredible group
Josh Gracin
Lacs - newer stuff, their older stuff is too punk for me
Mario Flores
matt Stillwell
Micky and the Motorcars
Mike Ryan
Outshyne
Randy Houser
Reckless Kelly
Richie Scholl
Roger Creager
Russell D i c kerson
Tyler Farr
Zane Lewis

The list goes on but that's a good chunk and it grows constantly as I am a music junky.

These guys can thank me because I buy all my music I know not everyone will like all of the artists but what i have been doing is reading the top Texas artists plays here and it unlocks so many artists that we would never hear up here anyways. Anyone have any good texas station that I can stream?

I hear those artist's on my Sirius once in a while...some of that new stuff ain't so bad! If you want a different sound tune in to our local radio station 100.3 FM the Rajun Cajun...they broadcast in French in the morning then a talk show from 10 to 12 CST. Swamp pop, zydeco and all kind of stuff later. Most are local South Louisiana artist's. The talk show can be funny with a lot of cajun's calling in and bitchin about everything! KLRZ is the call sign

I'll check it out PawPaw, it'd be nice to hear music coming from directly down there for a change. I don't touch the stations here, same 10 songs and it's crap

It's like another world down here...some of the zydeco and swamp pop can drive you nut's after listening to it for any length of time. I like listening to the talk show in the morning.

Whenever I'm at my sisters just West of Waco I tend to listen to Waco 100, they play new stuff of course but they play a lot of the Texas country.

Another you need to check out is Jason Boland & The Stragglers. Awesome stuff.

I know it's addicting

I would like to, I'd have to take a trip down there at some point. I have a year left until graduation so hopefully that following summer I can take a trip. Just gonna do research and see what a move like that would involve in a few years.

Aim that F-150 South to New Orleans for the Mardi Gras going on...ala Easy Rider! You may never want to go back to Massachusetts!
