I know my pockets arent as deep as OPEC thinks they are and I want to drive my FULL SIZE truck whenever and wherever I @#%* well please.
The only drawback is the cost of the fuel in North America.
IMHO I believe that if we all ban togetther on this small issue with such a large impact we can and will make a difference in not onloy the cost of fuel but the ever rising cost of living.
REMEMBER FOLKS IT IS.....
UNITED WE STAND AND DIVIDED WE FALL, and fall is not something I will do without one H#@% of a fight!!
If you are with the rest of us just simply post and say I AM IN!
Thanks for your time.
Here is a short list of the folks that have already been notified of this intention for
APRIL THE 7TH-9TH OF 2000

fastford Me and others choose to ignore these type of emails. But thanks for posting it instead of emailing us all with it.
Here is why it won't work: We need gas to go to work, therefore MOST of us, even if we wanted to do this, would be getting gas on the day before or the day after this "event" If you use 30 gal a week, you will still need, use and buy 30 gal that week even if you don't buy it on those days.
If we really want to "get" the oil Co's then we need to all buy/use bicyles for a month.
Personally I may quit smoking just to keep up my Driving habbit!

Gonna get my Bed rails back on, Finally!
Couldn't find the right Polished steel design, so once I modify the powercoated ones I just bought, I will paint them.

Q: who wants my "Pocket Mount" chrome ones? Price:cost of shipping, or gas and maybe lunch if you live in S/E MI.

If I was a gas making fat cat, what I would do is keep the price up during the so-called gas-out, then on the day after that I jack up the price by 20 cents. They are still forced to buy it cause after those 3 days, their gas supply will be low. What can make a gas-out work is if a significant number of people have another mode of transportation that don't use gas.

This same topic has been 'shared' with the F150online mailing list twice in the past week - and it came around last year and the year before that. While it's not a hoax, it surely qualifies as an Urban Myth.

Stop and think about this for a minute. If we stop buying fuel from the 7th till the 9th of April - who does that affect? The Opec Ministers wouldn't even notice a ripple (nor would they care), the refineries would continue to refine crude oil, the gasoline distributors would continue to deliver to the stations that saw an increase in consumption before and after the 'strike'. The place that this would be felt the most is at the ownership of independant gas stations - and their per gallon profit is only about 1-2 cents per gallon as is. They have about as much say in the price per gallon as you and I do.

I find it interesting that whenever the price of gasoline rises, and people start to stamp their feet - it's always directed at the oil companies and Opec Countries. In Washington State the price of a gallon is almost as much tax as it is product. How come no one is targeting our own legislators?

If this goes over big - I guess I won't have to wait to pump fuel between the 7th and 9th of April....

I have also been sent this e-mail a half dozen times or more. In my opinion..it will not really accomplish a whole bunch. They already know we are P*SS*ED about the prices...but could care less.

Thanks for the post though!

I don't know if they appreciated it - but I do. Now I've got a whole bunch more email addresses I can send to when I try to sell my no-engined Pinto stationwagon with the woodgrain (vinyl) sides. I only want $23,000.00 for it (it's gonna be a classic someday...) With a good washing the wet-dog smell ought to come out of it.

It might not do any good but it sure doesn't hurt to try. I won't be buying gas on those 3 days.

Andthensometoo has a good point the strike won't work unless people do not drive.

"It might not do any good but it sure doesn't hurt to try. I won't be buying gas on those 3 days."

Zracer, actually that's not true, if everyone did do this and continues to drive, then after the three days everyone will be heading in for gas, then supply and demand kicks in possibly driving the price up.

(Doubtful in just three days)

I'll be tempted to fill up on one of those three days. If this boycot is successful, there won't be any lines at the pumps and I won't have to wait!

You think you guys could make this a weekly thing?
