HI!... I know this is WAY off topic but I figured more people would read it here. Well hear it goes!LOL! Well 8 months ago I brought my truck to my dealer to show them the BIG door crack that I had in my drivers door. They said NO PROBLEM, and set me to the "QUALITY CARE" (NOT!" section of the dealership. Well the head guy there named "JAMIE" looked at the door and told me that they would replace it under warrenty. Well it took 8 months for this DAM door to come in finally! He kept telling me that it was on BACK ORDER! YA RIGHT! Well 1ST they did'nt want to give me a loaner car and they told me that the body shop would have it for 3 days MAX! I told him that I had the EXTENDED WARRENTY and that I am intiteled to a loaner car according to my warrenty contract. He told me that FORD's won't cover the cost of a loaner car for "BODY WORK". So after arguing with this A$$ for several days, I got fed up with him and went straight to the finance officer at the dealer. I bought my extended warrent from her and cost me $1500.00(CAN)!! She told me that he was full of *****, and called him on the phone right there and then. This woman chewed JAMIE a new A$$! I love it!!LOL He did'nt know that I went to go see her and when I went into his office a few minutes later, he told me that "It was hard, but he personally managed to get FORD's to give me a loaner car". I then told him that I was in her office when she called him a few minutes before and he got this REAL stupid look on his face and just played dum. CAN WE SAY. CAUGHT! lol! I then told him that I would drive my truck to the bodyshop and that I would pick it up when it was done. He then started arguing with me that one of his "GUYS" would HAVE to drive it there and pick it up. YA RIGHT! I'm going to let some PUNK kid drive my $42,000(CAN) 330H.P truck half way across town in the ice and snow! NOT!lol! So after arguing with him to the point that I was going to hit him, I told him NO WAY and that if I don't drive it there and pick it up then FORGET IT! Well I got my way! As if I would'nt of!LOL! So the he told me that my appointment for the body shop was on DEC 4TH and that he would call me later in the week to tell me what exact time it had to be there in the morning. Well DEC 4TH comes around and I hear nothing from this clown. So I go into the dealer around 10:00A.M that morning and go to talk to him. He has the ***** to ask me how it went at the body shop? I told him that I had not been there yet because he never called me! He played DUMB again. Then, right in front of me he calls the body shop and asks them if they have time to do a F-150 dooe that day! What a *****! He never even made an appointment with them in the 1ST place! He did'nt know that a freind of mine works at that particular body shop and told me that they knew nothing about my truck coming in. Then they gave me the new door (IN BOX) and the paper work to do the job and I went to the body shop. I drpped the truck off and got a ride back to the dealers to get my loaner car. The stupid FOOL never even ordered me one and I had to wait while he tried several rent-a-car places to get me one. It seemed that everyone was ALL BOOKED up! Well he finally got me one and I had to wait 35 minutes at the dealer for it to get there. They ended up giving me a "2001" WINDSTAR SPORT, 3.8L, 205H.P and was almost fully loaded. It only had 228KMs on it! Well the body shop told me that my truck would be done on that WEDNESDAY at 4:00P.M. So that day comes along and to my surprise, the truck is ALL torn apart and not done! Apparently that idiot JAMIE sent the the wrong door! He gave them a "97" F-150 door and none of my interior stuff from my "99" F-150 will fit on it. The funny thing is that the dealer got me a new "STRUCTURALLY IMPROVED" driver's door in 4 hours! It took that CLOWN 8 months to get the other door! Well the loaner car was only good for two days, but my truck was'nt done so I refused to bring it back. I then go back to the body shop on THURSDAY and the truck was still to wet to go driving out in the snow and rain. So I still kept the loaner car! I then went back FRIDAY and the truck is STILL not done! Apparently the new door has some structurer differences with my old door and it needs a new door "WISKER" which the IDIOT at the dealer forgot to order! By the way, on the box of the 2ND door it clearly stated that it needed a new style door "WISKER" and even gave the new part #. It was then 5 days, 2 days overdue. I was so FURIOUS that I raced to the dealers to find this guy and punch him out. When I got there he had already gone home. I talked to the other guy there and he told me that the same thing that was going on with my truck was going on with 2 other F-150's at different body shops. The funny thing is because of all my B!TCHING and complaining the JAMIE got fired from his position and is now a WASH CAR BOY! I LOVE IT! So I went into the body shop to get my truck today and they told me that they had not received the new part yet. I went back to the dealer and found that the part that I need is on national back order. They told me it could be here tomorrow or in 2 weeks! So in the mean while my truck has to sit at the body shop until the part comes in. I am not a happy camper!!!! It's now been 8 days. The new guy at the dealer told me not to worry about the loaner and to keep it as long as I needed till I get my truck back. The loaner now has 900KMs on it!LOL! By the way I have also been waiting 9 months for a new drivers arm rest and drivers rear window that were being replace by warrenty and were ordered by this guy. Everytime I went in to see if they were in, he told me that they were there and that he did'nt want install them until the new door came in. I found out from the new guy that JAMIE never even order those parts and was just BULL*****ING me the whole time. So I guess JAMIE got what was coming to him and I'm just glad that I was part of helping him get it!LOL! Now I think I am going to talk to the service manager about all of this and write a letter to FORD's naming names. Sorry for the long post guys, I'm just venting!

Sounds just like my local dealership used to be. Until, The got bought out by aanother chain of dealerships(lithia automotive Group)They used to be terrible about everything-body work,warranty work,and out of pocket work. No loaners-what was I supposed to do ride my mountain bike 11 miles to work-ya right- wanted the truck for a week to find a strange sound that I told them what was making the sound and how to fix it.Well, anyway when they got bought out - they fired every person in the service department,hired new people and trained them the right way. They still don't have loaners, but I honestly feel that if my truck was gonna be there for a couple of days, they would provide me with a means of transportation.I just hope I don't have to take it in for anything other than the regular scheduled maintanence.

Hey Neal, let me tell you about my experiance when I needed my supercrew's passanger side door re-done due to a paint bubble.

I took it in on Wedsday, and they were going to give me a Ford Aerostar through Enterprise rentals. After they picked me up and took me to the office, a walk through of the van found front end damage. Well they are not allowed to rent any vehicle w/ front end damage, so the girl looks into the lot and ask, "how about the Durango over there". I said sure, and they gave me 125 free miles a day. Pretty nice rig, though my screw is much better.

I got my truck back two days later, one day earlier than expected. Hope this makes you feel better. Oh, and I didn't pay for an extended warranty.

Neal and I use the same Dealer. My door is cracked too. I was in there the day Neal's truck was ready having them check up on a torn seat cover and broken Arm rest. My door had been looked at before but someone
(the infamous Jamie?) lost the order. His replacement, Mark, is fed up with customers complaining about Jamie so things should improve when and if I ever get a new door.

Hey Neal,

Glad to hear you got your truck back with the new door, finally. Sounds like they did a nice job on the paint work, you're lucky, that doesn't happen many times, a lot of people will get some orange peel I've noticed in paint repairs at numerous different Ford dealerships over the years. I feel sorry for anyone that has to try and paint-match say, a medium-shade metallic, like a nice maroon metallic, or a medium blue metallic, they are nearly impossible to really match when they "spot in" paint repairs, etc. That kind of work would drive me to drink, so hats off to all the people who do that kind of work.

I hope your boss get's his fill of hunting so you can get back to work and replentish the street-racing gasoline & tires budget! A lot of people in this area do that too, meaning shut down during hunting season and don't work, that happens every yeaer here, too. I hope you are able to get some enjoyment out of your time off, and just relax and not worry about things.
