89 Mercedes - need help with red paint detail.

Doing this for a friend and have to do with OTC stuff such as Meguairs. Will probably finish off with Liquid Glass and or Collonite 845. I plan on using my Ryobi RO. Thoughts on paint prep process? What you see kind of comes off rubbing with your finger. I put a little heavy cut on a towel just to test. It comes off pretty good and I am surprised the towel didn't turn pink. The car is by no means showroom; needs a lot of work. Daily driver.

Thanks! 5 hours and:

Bug and tar remover on hood and trunk.
Medium cut turtle wax compound.
Fine cut turtle wax compound. (Terrible PITA to remove when dry. Not recommended.)
Liquid Glass after cleaning up the fine cut with Quick Detailer.
Collonite 845 on all but the sides the following morning.

Much appreciated! If I keep doing this gonna have to find another RO. My Ryobi is loud and there is so much vibration my hands and arms feel it 2 days after. I think it vibrates more than orbits!

A PC 7424XP is actually a DA (dual action), excellent unit. Noise and vibration is normal with any DA.

Certainly. You need something after polish anyway for protection.
