Yellow F-150 Help
I have a 2004 yellow F-150 and the paint has lots of swirl marks and light scratches in it. I am wanting to upgrade to a DA but i am not real sure what else i need to go along with it to fix my paint. If i need to take pictures, would it be better to take them outside or inside under a light?

Pictures in a post have to come from an internet hosted site. You can use the album here on this site or a thrid party such as Photobucket. There is an icon above the post box on the right sid, next to last, that looks like montains and a yellow back ground. Click on that and paste the copied url of your pic in the space provided.

Almost. I don't think myspace will work. You normally have to be logged in to an account to view photos on their site. If we put that image URL in the address bar it asks us to login or create an account.
I would try using the photo album on here or photobucket.com. Both work very well. It's the same process of uploading photos.

From what I can see in the pics you have some typical micro marring and some hard water spots on the paint. The hard water spots may be the hardest to deal with if they are etched into the clear the micro marring is probably the easiest to deal with. What are you willing to spend to fix what you have and there are two options on how to go about this. One is buy the equipment and products and do it your self or you can take it to someone that you trust and have them do it either way you are looking at any where from $125 to $250.

Everyone has a different way of approaching a project like this. If this was my truck I would get the $169 G110 from ADS (autodetailingsolutions), which can be found here. It comes with 2 polishing pads (yellow) and a finishing pad (black). It even comes with M205. I would purchase M105. I would test a spot first using just the M205 (less aggressive than M105) to see if this fixes your problem. If it does than I would do the whole truck with M205. If it doesnt that I would start with M105 then finish it with M205 if needed. Don't forget to clay b/c it may help. Sounds like you haven't done much in a while. Keep in mind that many people use many different brands so your going to get different responses. I like to stick to one brand first b4 I actual branch out.
Once your done don't forget to apply your wax. I like Meguiars NXT 2.0 but there are many other good ones out there as well.

I would get a G110 kit from ADS if you are going to tackle this your self. It is probably the most inexpensive way to go and will get you the results that you are looking for. The other thing to consider here is your wash technique most of us use the two bucket method with grit guards in the bottom of the buckets with either a high quality lambs wool mitt or a chennile mirco fiber mitt. The proper washing technique will help eliminate most of the maring that you see and make up keep on the finish of your truck much easier.
