Glossy B-Pillars How to (pics)

Thanks to Domenic at Tasca for the help with the part #'s

total cost was around $165 + shipping

5L3Z1620554AA
5L3Z1620555AA
5L3Z16255A34AA
5L3Z16255A35AA

these part #'s are for a supercrew

here is a comparison pic

its really the same process for all the pillars , i just decided to take some pics while i did the last one which was the rear passenger side.

First, you need a long thin flat head screw driver, insert it underneath the trim at the bottom of the window, there is a clip the you have to undue about halfway inbetween the pillar

Once you undue the clip , lift up the lower trim piece , be careful not to bend it , it will not take its original shape. slowly pull up and it will come off

Now for the fun part , id recommend using something not to scratch the paint , but since its not seen it wasnt my biggest concern. take the screw driver and insert it at the bottom of the b pillar and start prying up. the pillar is held on by 2 clips and double sided tape

keep working your way up , u can use a razor to undue the double sided tape and when you get to the clip , i just gave her a good tug and it popped out

this is what it looks like with the pillar removed, you need to take off the double sided tape.

I wouldnt be too concerned about the old pillars , they pretty much garbage after your done prying at em lol

next take your trusty screw driver and you have to push the trim piece here towards the rear of the vehicle or front if your doing the front

its attached to the top of the trim so just let it hang there more or less

once that piece is lose , you have to peel the double sided tape on the new pillar , and clip it into place. then just reverse the process with the trim pieces

Nice! So which part number is which? Passenger front, driver front, etc. I'm sure the regular cab rears are probably different.
